1. Who is responsible

Christopher R Martin MW, a sole trader based in London, UK, is responsible for the personal data collected through this website and its services. Questions about your data go to chris@chrismartinmw.com.

2. What is collected

  • your name and email address, when you sign up for the free guide or the waiting list, or send a message through the Contact form
  • your name, email address and the service you book, when you book or buy a service
  • for Wine Services, the event details you give, such as the date, address and number of guests
  • answers and essays you send for marking, and the reports written on them
  • recordings of group sessions

Card details are entered on Stripe's payment page and are never seen or stored by Christopher R Martin MW.

3. Why it is used

  • to provide the services you book
  • to send you the free guide and occasional emails, if you sign up (you can unsubscribe at any time from any email)
  • to reply to your messages
  • to keep the financial records UK tax rules require
  • to develop teaching materials: ideas from marked answers may be adapted, but answers are never reproduced, and students are never named

4. Who handles it

Your data is handled by the tools used to run the services:

  • Stripe (payments)
  • Cal.com (booking one-to-one sessions)
  • Kit (the email list)
  • Zoho Mail (email)
  • Zoom (live sessions and recordings)
  • Netlify (website and Contact form)

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Your data is not sold or shared for any other purpose.

5. How long it is kept

  • email list: until you unsubscribe
  • booking and payment records: for as long as UK tax rules require
  • marked answers and reports: two years, or until you ask for them to be deleted, whichever comes first
  • recordings of group sessions: six months
  • messages that don't lead to a booking: 12 months

6. Your rights

You can ask to see the data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to limit how it is used. You can withdraw consent to emails at any time. Write to chris@chrismartinmw.com. If you are unhappy with the reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

7. Cookies

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The website host may set cookies the site needs to work. The website is hosted by Netlify.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated. The date below shows the latest version.
